A rescue team from North Shore Animal League America flew to Puerto Rico to rescue a pack of pups and brought them back to New York. So, these guys just came back with us from Puerto Rico, Animal League America Rescue Manager Karla Agostinello says in a video shared by the organization. We have Hugo here who accompanied me on my trip back from Puerto Rico to New York last week, and his siblings just arrived, she says as she holds black-and-white Hugo in one arm and one of his siblings in the other. Andrea Herrick, founder of Proud Rescuers of Puerto Rico, and Proud Rescuers volunteer Cristy Schaefer stand alongside Agostinello holding Hugos other siblings. Andrea found these on the streets of Puerto Rico where there are thousands of dogs looking for homes and safe places to go, Agostinello says. North Shore Animal League America bills itself as the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. Since its 1944 founding, the organization says it has rescued more than 1.1 million animals.
