Flamingo Feeding – Slo-Mo, then Real Time at the End – San Antonio Zoo

A video from the San Antonio Zoo in Texas shows a flamingos feeding technique in slow motion. The video shows the pink bird dipping its beak into a cup of treat-filled water. The flamingos fast filter feeding turns into a slow-motion sloshing before going back to real time. “Our feathery flamingo friends are enjoying some tasty treats,” the zoo tweeted alongside the video. The wading birds are filter feeders, which means they use their beaks to stir up the water and filter out what they want to eat, the zoo said. Flamingos can eat small crustaceans, mollusks, and even insects.
