Fiona the hippo chased by her family at Cincinnati Zoo

Baby hippo Fritz and mother Bibi have rejoined the rest of their family in Hippo Cove at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden in Ohio. The pair spent a couple of weeks bonding away from 19-year-old father Tucker and 5-year-old sister Fiona. A video shared by the zoo shows baby Fritz chasing Fiona around the habitat, over land and under water, as Bibi follows closely behind. Bibis pregnancy, discovered around April Fools Day, was a surprise to zookeepers because she was on birth control. Shortly after the birth on Aug 3, the name Fritz won an online vote, in which the other choice was Ferguson. “We would have been happy with either name, but we really think the name Fritz fits this spunky little guys personality,” head hippo keeper Wendy Rice said in a statement. “We also thought it was funny that it was suggested because Fritz is here due to Bibis birth control being on the fritz.”
