One backyard intruder in Colorado proved to be smarter than the average bear when it managed to open a bear-resistant trash can.
A video shared by Twitter user Matt Benjamin shows a determined bear knocking over a trash can and using its mouth to open the latch meant to keep it out. Once successful, it pulls out a trash bag and drags its prize away.
As you can see this mama bear used her mouth to pinch the latch and open the trash can, Benjamin tweeted, before calling on the engineers at the University of Colorado, Boulder for a possible solution. Perhaps a @CUEngineering challenge could help?
